Life Smart vs. Book Smart The Internet Has Crashed

Jessica Turbo was one of those people you only run across a few times in your life. She was kind-hearted…always reaching out to the needy…a woman of faith, who never said an unkind word about anyone. Sometimes you wonder how a person like that survives in the real world…but amazingly, they do.

One day, Jessica was out running errands when she received a phone call from her babysitter informing her that her young daughter was very sick, and battling a fever. She turned the car around quickly, stopping by the pharmacy to get some medication. When she got back to her car… she found that she had locked her keys in the car.

She wan’t quite sure what to do next, so she called home and asked the babysitter how her daughter was doing.

“She’s getting worse, Jessica” said the sitter. “She’s moaning and calling out for you. You might try to find a coat hanger and use that to open the door.”

Saying a quick prayer under her breath, Jessica looked around and found an old rusty coat hanger that had been left on the ground (possibly by someone else who at some time had locked their keys in their car). Looking at the hanger, she said, “Hmmm…I’m sure I don’t know how to use this.”

So again, she bowed her head and asked God to send her help.

Believe it or not, a couple minutes later, a biker pulled up on his Harley…slowing to ask if she needed any help. Jessica didn’t usually have a lot of interaction with men of indeterminate age, covered with tattos…scruffy, greasy, profane…and wearing a skull rag on their heads.

But, over the years, Jessica had learned not to look a gift horse in the mouth, so she sucked it up and said, “Yes sir… my daughter is very sick. I stopped to get her some medication and I locked my keys in my car. I must get home to her. Please, can you use this hanger to unlock my car?

He said, “Sure.” Taking the hanger, he walked over to the car, and in a few seconds the lock popped and he opened the car door for her.

She was so overjoyed that she ran up and hugged him hard, saying, “Thank you SO much! You’re are a very nice man.”

The biker replied, “Ma’am, I’m NOT a nice man. I just got out of prison two weeks ago. I just served two years for car theft.”

Smiling, the woman hugged him again and looking to the sky said, “Thank you, Jesus! You even sent me a professional!!”
