Ahhh…the venerable theremin. It’s been around since forever, and apart from sound effects for sci-fi movies, it’s primarily been known as the cool, eerie sound on the Beach Boys’ smash hit, “Good Vibrations”. However, Randy George of The Ether and Aether Experiment has undertaken a cover of the Gnarls Barkley hit, Crazy, using the theremin as the lead instrument. Now the theremin is not exactly a precise tool…or maybe I should say it’s TOO precise. But it’s hard to get a peformance down just perfect with it. However, they’ve done a great job of mimicking the GB singer’s voice. Match that up with a pretty good song and you’ve got some genuine musical fun!
